La Gruta de la Paz: A Natural and Spiritual Treasure

The grotto, surrounded by rich geological history and mollisol soils, intertwines with the area’s ancestral chiefdoms and the Mercedarian order. In 1819, the first worship of the Virgin of Mercy was established here, leading to its religious importance. The grotto became a pilgrimage site, with a sculpture of Our Lady of Peace installed in 1911.

We will transport ourselves to a small valley where we will find a sanctuary that houses an impressive grotto with a virgin inside. We can walk along a trail that will lead us to thermal pools, while enjoying the view of the river and its beautiful landscapes in the background.
